Disabled Flying
Anglian
Air Centre has a Piper PA28 Warrior II training aircraft
adapted for use by people who want to learn to fly but
do not have full mobility in their legs.
The modification allows the rudder pedals to be adjusted
with the hand. In this way, full flying control of the
aircraft is maintained. There is wheelchair access to
all flight training facilities a ramp is provided to enable
wheelchairs to be located adjacent to the wings of the
aircraft.
A small amount of assistance is then required to lift
the pilot onto the wing where a rubber mat enables the
pilot to safely move up the wing and into the cockpit.
VisionAir
Control
This is a device developed and manufactured
in Australia and approved by the CAA and CASA. It gives
full rudder authority on the ground and in the air.
At the Air Centre all our instructors teaching with the
VisionAir hand control are able to operate and fly with
the installation.
Gold
Wings
Gold Wings Mr Paul Dunstan, is a paraplegic who obtained
his PPL with Anglian Air Centre in 2006.
Paul would be happy to talk with any potential pilot.
